TO THE YOUTH OF TODAY
Welcome to the threshold of life.
You are in the so-called "awkward stage." You are like the ugly duckling that is surprised at its own awkwardness in the company of the beautiful swans, for this is the time that tremendous changes are taking place inside you that make you feel different and look different. You are being prepared to be physically capable to become a father or a mother. It all seems like a mystery but the greater mystery lies in this that in spite of the chemical changes in your body, you remain the same person that you are.
There are times when you can't understand yourself.
Sometimes you assert your independence. Other times, you long for the comfort and security of the home. Sometimes you feel daring. Other times you feel scared.
This is the age when the ordinary can seem so unappealing.
It is an age when girls are prone to imagining themselves as Cinderella with a magic wand to make wonderful things happen and boys imagine themselves as Prince Charming, good-looking, strong, confident and masterful. And yet, you are proud of your youth.
You resent being associated with the old and so, you call your elders "oldies" or some other word that expresses your resentment at this time of growing up.
You believe that the wonders of science and technology have given you the edge over your elders.
You are eager to forward and make your own way and your own mistakes.
You may squirm from the restraints your parents put on your freedom and you may wonder if your parents really know you, whether they will understand you.
You may well wonder too whether you know your own parents but this is all part of adolescense.
Explore, discover and learn about your life and work, about love and sacrifice, about truth and happiness.
Your parents are right there behind you cheering and praying hard for you eventhough you did not choose your parents or the environment that you grew up in.
You can choose what you can become.
To be and to become what?----
That is the question that only you can answer.
Make the important choice. Enjoy your youth.
Don't be afraid to grow..........
To mature.
Go on.-----
Life has many new beginnings!
Good Luck...........
