What does the word LOVE mean to you?
How do you know if you love someone or if someone loves you?
To better understand what love is, we must seperate the real roots of love from the notion of romance. Real love is a deep concern for another person's welfare. When you love someone, you communicate this love not just in words but in your actions. This kind of love is not something you "fall into". It is something you work on that grows each day.
These feelings can be strong that they can temporarily blind a person to the faults and shortcomings of another.
The decision to marry is one of the most important decisions anyone can makes. Yet, surprisingly, this decision often occurs without careful thought. People may become swept up in romance being "in love" and not think beyond the wedding ceremony. They just assume that they will live " happily ever after".
A good marriage depends on who you marry and when you marry.
When people decide to marry, an engagement or waiting period often takes place first. It gives couples a last chance to decide whether or not they really suited to each other. Engagement also provides time to discuss husband and wife roles and to work out concrete plans for married life.
When two people exchange wedding vows, their dating relationship ends. A new relationship begins. Marriage brings special joys as well as responsibilities. It is a legal contract between two people that has certain obligations. It is also a couple's public statement of mutual commitment.
Often, when people marry, they think they have reached their goal. But............ the challenge has just begun. A happy marriage requires constant work and attention if it is to grow and last.
At first, marriage can be as hard as it is satisfying. It may not be easy to adjust to each other's personal habits. Living up a new roles is tougher than just talking about them.
Every marriage has its ups and downs. Conflicts over money, husband and wife roles and children are the most common reasons for broken marriages but it is the way that problems and daily conflicts are handled that is important. Regular communication is the key to a sound marriage. Through sharing, we are able to find satisfaction and happiness. Problems, pains and worries become less difficult when shared.
